Ivana Dillas with Blue Williams will cover applications of gross negligence for cases arising during the executive order pertaining to COVID-19. The executive order was in place from March 2020 – March 2022. Gross negligence or willful misconduct is a heightened standard that has been applied to civil liability cases (not just med mal) against healthcare providers during the course and scope of their employment for personal or property injury, but there are exceptions to the rule, i.e. Sebble, and affirmative defenses that must be plead before the immunity provision can be applied.
Dianna Duffy Willem with Hebbler & Giordano, will discuss legislation addressing transportation networking company insurance coverage requirements and other related issues.
