Speaker Bio: Gregory M. Grandy currently holds the position of Coastal Resources Administrator of Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority. Mr. Grandy has recently held executive leadership positions with the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.  His responsibilities have included leadership of the state agency responsible for the development, implementation, monitoring, operations and adaptive management of effective, efficient coastal restoration and protection projects in coastal Louisiana.  Mr. Grandy has over 27 years of experience in project and program management and has successfully led and the state coastal agency and trans-disciplinary, multi-agency teams through the planning, design and implementation of innovative protection and restoration projects throughout coastal Louisiana.

His strategic thinking was key to the 2023 approval of over $100 million in work-in-kind credit for coastal restoration projects and application of that credit to non-federal share of the Hurricane and Storm Damage Risk Reduction System that protects the greater New Orleans region and the first of its kind approval of a coastal restoration project, the Maurepas Swamp Freshwater Diversion, for mitigation credit of a large scale hurricane protection system. He served as the Program Manager for the Coastal Impact Assistance Program (CIAP) in Louisiana, which was the first state to have their $500 million CIAP plan approved, the first state to have grants awarded, and the first state to construct coastal restoration and infrastructure projects with CIAP funds.

He is a licensed landscape architect and holds degrees in Environmental Management and Landscape Architecture from Louisiana State University. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the American Shore and Beach Preservation Association and was President of the Louisiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects from 2014 to 2016 the last time the national ASLA Conference came to New Orleans. He is immensely proud of the legacy project from that conference which is a pocket park at the International High School on Carondelet Street in downtown New Orleans. For over 20 years, he served as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts affiliated with St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.

Mr. Grandy and his wife Claire have lived in Baton Rouge, Louisiana since 1997.
